Resume Now - Unauthorized Charges
I purchased Resume-Now's resume and cover letter template for $1.95 on 9/5/18. The small print tells you that they will be billing you.
However, I think that this is fraudulent in itself because it is not true authorizaion or consent. The fact is -- I did not sign up for any kind of ongoing service. That's like buying a shirt at a department store and now the store is authorized to bill you $24.99 a month because of your purchase -- even if they put it on your receipt. There is no way I would have purchased anything from this company understanding that after one purchase, I would be forced into an ongoing relationship.
So, when I saw that they billed me twice on my November bank statement I called immediately (844.351.7485).
I'm not sure how their service is a "monthly" charge when I was billed twice in a week. However, they continued to bill me three additional times - once in December and twice (again) in February. But now the customer number listed on my bank statement changed to (999) 999-****. I believe this is an attempt to make it harder for consumers to cancel.
So, I sent an email in February to their customer service center and they replied to me that they "couldn't find my account." I have already paid this company $124.95. So I had no other option than to close my bank account due to this company's continued fraud.
Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.
Monetary Loss: $300.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Resume Now Cons: Unauthorized billing, No business ethics.
