I had the same scam as others. After I paid small fee for resume I have been charged monthly $39.80 without any notice or invoices. Called to complain and they said they are canceling and said they will only refund 1/3 of the money. Do not use this company.

Resume now is a scam

I contacted the attorney general office here in Washinton on friday, with any luck we will get this company shut down. I am hoping to start a class action suit against this company. They are without a doubt stealing money from people knowingly. They purposely make sure you have a hard time cancelling their service even after you have clearly cancelled. We can and will get these rip off artist shut down. I guess this complaint site requires me to write at least 100 words so hopefully this will be enough foe me to post. To anyone reading this do not give Resume Now any of your bank, or credit card info. They will use your info to charge your account without you knowing it.

LC Resume - These guys have been taking $40 USD per month from my credit card, all based on a $1 resume download deal, the number quoted earlier to call them on does not work. Anyone have a new number that I can contact them on or any idea to stop this??? I am going nuts with this....

Charge my money $180

Resume Now - Charge my money $180
Resume Now - Charge my money $180 - Image 2

I created a resume online through this company, I paid $1.98 for resume and $1.46 for the cover letter in the end on 15 March 2016. When I receive the bank statement for this month then I realised that I have been charged by three times which is about $180 dollar from my credit card.

I am unhappy with that an auto renews and without acknowledge me. I don't know how can get my money back. I am currently students study in New Zealand, $180 for me is a lot of money.

I feel it is not safe and security concern when I purchase or create something online, suddenly my money just missing. probably I won't do it next time anymore with this kind of stuff.

RESUME NOW: Promised to Make it Right

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I went online and found an advertisement for a free resume builder as I needed to turn in a resume the next day for a job posting. So, I built the resume and then couldn't print or download it until I entered my credit card and was charged a small fee. I was uncomfortable with that but it was late and I already spent time building the resume. The site does have some very nice features and specific help that tailors skills to job titles. However, I was totally unprepared for the $34.90 charge that hit my Discover card. It turns out that this would be billed monthly until I cancelled it. However, I never authorized or ordered this service. I created a username and password for a free resume building site. I should have realized something was wrong when I was charged the minimal fee to download the resume. So, I called the company and they are going to reverse the charges. I am so happy that they will reverse the charges; however, it has not happened yet. It should happen within the next week, I was given a number that confirmed the charges will be reversed. I gave some feedback that if the service was not advertised as free on the search engine and the $34.90 a month charge was clearly stated and had to be paid prior to spending a lot of time building the resume, then I would have known my card is being billed. So, you are offered a trial period and supposed to cancel the service if you do not want it. It is misleading because I had no reason to read the e-mails because I thought I was done, I had the resume. So, in my opinion, the site should give an overview of the services and build value. The company is relying on the fact that most people will not be aware that their card will be billed and may not cancel the service. Granted, I would probably not have used the service if I had to pay $34.90 upfront, so, maybe something structured like, pay $9.99 for a week, no "free trial" or "hidden automatic renewal" it was not clear that the card would be charged $34.90 and how can you cancel something that you did not order? It would be better to charge a weekly fee up front and then not let the customer back in until they pay another fee when the time is up. That way, there are no surprises. Most people go in because they need a resume fast. They don't need the service month after month. Maybe in a few week, they may need to go back in and modify the resume, so they can pay another fee and maybe make a second resume. More of an "On - Demand" rather than an automatic renewal that renews something that was never ordered. My problem isn't with the service, it is with how it is marketed. So, I am going to call back to suggest this idea of pay on demand, a smaller fee as needed. I hope that I truly do get my fee back because I never signed up for auto renew if you don't cancel; I never ordered it so how can it auto renew and how can I cancel something I never ordered? It is this part that is upsetting and doesn't feel fair.

Charged me $40 every TWO weeks without my knowledge. I NEVER signed up for a subscription. This company is awful! Hidden fees!!! I only signed up for 14 days for like a couple dollars!! I chose that INSTEAD of the $40 plan!! They took 80 total from me! I needed that money. I will never use this company ever again and will tell everyone to never sign up. This is not how a company should do business.

ResumeNow Deceptive Business Practice

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. During my search for employment, I used the so-called "free" resume template, which cost $1.95 to use. Though very generic, I paid the fee, which I assumed was a one-time cost. To my surprise, I was charged $39.80 in each of the next three months for a "membership," which I never authorized and was totally unaware. I have requested my money, less the $1.95, be returned. Not holding my breath. I will submit a further review after 90 days to let you know if the money was returned. "Sucker" deals like this are all to prevalent on the internet. As a college educated consumer, I thought I had seen all the tricks. Fortunately, most businesses on the internet try to behave responsibly. This company is not one of those.

Everyone feels this way about our "experience" because everyone has been duped into these outrageous charges. I don't care what it said in the fine print.

The rate for the auto-subscription charges is outrageous for the services provided.

What liars

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
a free service cost me over 20 dollars so far. it was suppose to be 1.95 wow what a rip off. can anyone tell me how to stop these charges on my american express card from re-occurring. My daughter made a resume on resume now and it said in order to get a copy she would have to pay 1.95, so like a dummy I allowed her to use my card. At first they took 1.95 and then the next month took 19.95.She could have had the whole thing done for her at her career center, but she waned the convenience of doing it at home. I am so mad at shady practice such as this.

Its not FREE!!

Be honest resume now! i just lost my job and struggling to find another. i cant afford any extras and thought all the time and effort i put in at my local library to build a resume was going to be free. by the time i saw it was not once i tried to print i did not have enough time on the library computer to take re build a resume else where. so i had to pay the 1.95 and now go to the bank and deposit the few dollars i have to not over draft plus cancel the 2 week subscription as i cant afford and have no use for 19.99 a month services from you. had it said it cost something i would never have used it. Had i been on a personal computer with unlimited time i also would not have used your service i used it out of desperation!!

Concern regarding ongoing deductions

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Downloaded template for my son. presuming small amount covered this download but have since had 4 larger amounts deducted from my account (monthly). These services are not free but appear to be in the advertisement. I have had amounts of $52.45. $55.02, $54.10 and $52.93 deducted over a 4 monthly period. I need to speak to someone regarding this problem. Despite Anna's invitation on this page, with her email address, to contact her to discuss matter, I have not received a reply to my numerous emails. Has anyone actually had any contact/discussion with her. If so could you please let me know how to do it. Thanks Mariyn Dew

Why did i trust this company?

hello I was told there would be a one time charge of 1.00 and I have had over 60.00 from my card. I have talked with the legal department and will be pursuing legal charges against your company unless, I hear back from you. the card that was on this account has been closed. I sent an email to the customer care and no answer back.. Live and learn I guess. burnt me this time. wont happen again. now I have to wait for my new card to get here.. this is what I get for helping a friend out with trying to get a job..
